Bia Góes and Ricardo Valverde

Singer Bia Góes and vibraphonist Ricardo Valverde form a duo that, over 15 years of partnership, has built a unique sound in Brazilian music. With solid individual careers—Bia has released four albums and performed in Brazil and abroad, and Ricardo has six albums and won the Prêmio Profissionais da Música (Music Professionals Award)—they combine voice and vibraphone in a minimalist and innovative format. Their most recent album, Bia Góes & Ricardo Valverde – Voz + Vibrafone (2023), won an award from the São Paulo Music Promotion Institute. Continuing this journey, the duo presents a new interpretation of Bossa Nova classics, enriched by the participation of Italian musicians. The project marks the duo's return to Italy on their second tour of the country, bringing to European audiences the sophistication and emotion of Brazilian music in striking, contemporary interpretations.

Singer Bia Góes has built a solid career in Brazilian music over her 15-year career. She has shared the stage with artists such as Toquinho, Omara Portuondo, Toninho Horta, Sérgio Britto, Nelson Sargento, Dominguinhos, and many others. With four albums released, she stands out for her versatility and the power of her interpretation. Her single "Oxum" surpassed 160,000 streams and earned her nominations for the Brazilian Music Award and the Music Professionals Award, as Best Regional Female Singer.

He presented his work in Brazil, Portugal and Italy, and participated in programs such as Ensaio, by Fernando Faro, Sr. Brasil, by Rolando Boldrin, Mosaicos (TV Cultura) and Talentos, with tributes to Johnny Alf and Nelson Cavaquinho.

Bia is currently releasing the album "Bia Góes & Ricardo Valverde," marking 15 years of collaboration with vibraphonist Ricardo Valverde. The project, awarded by the São Paulo City Music Promotion Foundation, highlights the duo's unique sound in a minimalist format of voice and vibraphone. With musical direction by Swami Jr. and orchestral arrangements by Jota Moraes, the album also features special appearances by Marcos Paiva (double bass) and a string quartet, in a repertoire that combines the delicacy and power of Brazilian song.

Ricardo Valverde is a vibraphonist, composer, researcher, and cultural producer. He holds a Master's degree in Music from UFBA (Federal University of Bahia) and is currently a PhD candidate in Music at UNESP-SP.

He is dedicated to the work of inserting the vibraphone into Brazilian Music, which has yielded six albums: “3 em 3x4 (Kalamata, 2011), “Teclas no Choro” (CPC-UMES, 2015), “Trios” (Baticum, 2017), Xirê de Vibrafone (Disk Union, 2019), Ensemble Choro Erudito (Kuarup, 2020) and “Bia Góes e Ricardo Valverde – Voz+ Vibrafone” (Independente, 2023).

Winner of the Music Professionals Award (2019) as best Choro Artist, Valverde played alongside several artists such as: Paulo Moura, Roberto Mendes, Dominguinhos, Nelson Sargento, Gereba, Anastácia, Riachão, Paulinho Boca de Cantor, Galvão, Pepeu Gomes, Moraes Moreira and Baby do Brasil (Novos Baianos), maestro Branco, Cristina Buarque, Fabiana Cozza, Silvia Goes, Marina de La Riva, Monarco da Portela, Diogo Nogueira, Laércio De Freitas, among others.
